Principal's Message

Dear Gordon Families,

 

Welcome to Gordon Elementary School!

 

I am excited to serve as Principal of Gordon School. As we begin the 2026–2027 school year, I look forward to working alongside our students, families, staff, and community to create meaningful opportunities for every child to achieve their best.

 

At Gordon, we provide a safe and supportive environment where every student grow academically, socially, and emotionally. We strive to help students discover their strengths, build confidence, and develop a love of learning in a culture of respect, inclusion, and high expectations.

 

This year, we will continue to strengthen foundational reading skills in Kindergarten and 1st grade to help students become strong early readers, and focus on reading fluency and comprehension in 2nd and 3rd grade. We will also strengthen students’ ability to solve word problems in math, helping them apply their thinking and reasoning skills in meaningful ways. 

 

Regular attendance is a key factor in academic achievement. Each school day offers valuable instruction, hands-on experiences, and opportunities for students to connect with their teachers and peers. Gordon School provides a variety of academic, behavioral, and social-emotional supports designed to help students flourish; however, students can only benefit from these services when they are present. Consistent attendance helps children build strong skills, establish positive habits, and remain engaged in their learning. We appreciate your support in ensuring that students arrive at school on time and ready to learn each day.

 

Strong relationships between home and school are essential to helping students thrive. By working together, maintaining open communication, and staying actively involved in each child's education, we can ensure that every student receives the support and encouragement needed to be successful.

¡Bienvenidos a la Escuela Primaria Gordon!

 

Estoy emocionada de servir como Directora de la Escuela Gordon. Al comenzar el año escolar 2026–2027, espero con entusiasmo trabajar junto a nuestros estudiantes, familias, personal y comunidad para crear oportunidades significativas que permitan a cada niño alcanzar su máximo potencial.

 

En Gordon, brindamos un ambiente seguro y de apoyo donde cada estudiante crece académica, social y emocionalmente. Nos esforzamos por ayudar a los estudiantes a descubrir sus fortalezas, desarrollar confianza en sí mismos y fomentar el amor por el aprendizaje en una cultura de respeto, inclusión y altas expectativas.

 

Este año, continuaremos fortaleciendo las habilidades fundamentales de lectura en Kindergarten y 1.º grado para ayudar a los estudiantes a convertirse en lectores fuertes desde temprano, y nos enfocaremos en la fluidez y comprensión lectora en 2.º y 3.º grado. También apoyaremos a los estudiantes en la resolución de problemas matemáticos, fortaleciendo su pensamiento y habilidades de razonamiento de manera significativa.

 

La asistencia regular es un factor clave en el logro académico. Cada día escolar ofrece instrucción valiosa, experiencias prácticas y oportunidades para que los estudiantes se conecten con sus maestros y compañeros. La Escuela Gordon proporciona una variedad de apoyos académicos, de comportamiento y socioemocionales diseñados para ayudar a los estudiantes a desarrollarse; sin embargo, los estudiantes solo pueden beneficiarse de estos servicios cuando están presentes. Agradecemos su apoyo para asegurar que los estudiantes lleguen a la escuela a tiempo y listos para aprender cada día.

 

Las relaciones sólidas entre la escuela y el hogar son esenciales para el éxito de los estudiantes. Al trabajar juntos, mantener una comunicación abierta y participar activamente en la educación de cada niño, podemos asegurar que cada estudiante reciba el apoyo y el ánimo necesario para tener éxito.
